New Bethel C.H. Church - A Church for All People
Woman to Woman
A monthly newsletter from First Lady of New Bethel,

Janurary 2012

Sorry about not getting a December newsletter in, but the Holiday's kept me so busy.

Well here we are in a New Year.  I didn't make any resolutions, I decided to make Life Goals instead.  I will look at these Goals on a regular basis and take inventory of how I'm doing.  I've made some personal, spiritual, and career goals.

I look at a New Year as a blank page that has no errors, mistakes, and do overs.  I get to begin a new and make this year whatever God chooses for me.  I kind of like looking at it like that.  It make the goals that I set seem fresh and new (not old ones abandoned and unfinished).  That seems more positive.

More Positive: is one of my "Life Goals" for this year and for ever.  Why is it so easy to see the negative than the positive?  I think it's the way we have been taught through the years.  We shouldn't expect something good, because what if it doesn't happen, but what if it does?  It's just as easy to expect something good as it is to always look for the negative, and the outcome is so much better.  Plus with God shouldn't we expect the best God has to offer!
IBook Nook:

My book of choice for this month's book nook:
"A Lineage of Grace" by Francine Rivers

It's about 5 unlikely women who changed eternity.

It is such an inspiring book for women.  Sometimes we hear about David, Solomon, Joshua, and all the other men of the Bible that we often forget that women played important roles in the Bible, and this book shares the story of five of them that will inspire any woman.

The five women the book is about are:
Tamar
Rahab
Ruth
Bathsheba
Mary

I encourage you to read this book, you will see our role as women for God in such a different way than ever before.

Scripture Time: Numbers 14:24New International Version (NIV)
"But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. "

As I read this scrpiture it makes me think about the kind of servant I am for the Lord.  Am I different like Caleb, and do I follow God wholeheartedly? Will my descendants inherit what God has promised because of my servanthood?  I want to make this year a year of my being a servant with a different spirit that follows God with my whole heart.
I hope that you will reflect upon this scripture and look at your walk with God.  If we all become servants like Caleb, what a difference we could make in this world.

May God Bless you and your family in 2012!
