The Power Of Prayer (Part 2)
The last blog I talked to you about the power of asking another to help pray for something you may be struggling with.  Well this time God has inspired me to talk to you about the power of prayer that lies within yourself.  See, Sometimes we get so tied up in asking everyone else to pray for this and that, we forget to try praying for it on our own first.  I'm very guilty of this myself.
I want to start out by telling you what happened in my life this past friday.  I woke up about 4a.m. and had this feeling to check on my 5 year old daughter.  I walked into her bedroom and she looked up at me and said, "daddy I'm cold."  I walked over to cover her up a little better and felt her head.  At this time I kind of got scared.  Her head felt very hot.
Now, the first reaction for a mom is to grab a thermometer, only bad thing is I'm a dad and don't know where that thing is.  First reaction for a dad is to wake up mom and ask her to get the thermometer.
Anyway, we went in to check her temperature and it was 103.5.  I know I don't have to tell you, but that is very high.  We checked it another time to make sure and got the same temperature.  I got dressed and while my wife was getting dressed I grabbed my phone to start texting my pastor and church family to start praying for my little girl.  Before I started texting I felt like God was telling me to just pray for her myself.  I knelt down beside the bed and started to pray for her.  She got scared, began crying and asked me what was going on.  I said to  her, "everything's gonna be ok, we just need to get you checked out."
Well, we went on to the hospital and the nurse started out checking her blood pressure and temperature.  I thought something was very wrong because she was checking her temperature twice.  She looked up at us and asked if we gave her any tylenol or motrin before coming.  We said, "no, we brought her here first thing."  The nurse said, "well her temperature is 98 and seems to be fine."  They done the check for strep throat, and also drawed blood to see if they could find out what made her temperature spike up so high.  All test came back negative.  They couldn't find anything wrong.  Glory to God.
Well we went home and immediatly had to start dealing with another problem. "School."  See my little girl loves school and in the school policy if your child has run a fever within the past 24 hours you can't go to school.  But, I guess that's a problem that I can happily deal with on my own.
I'm not telling you to stop calling on people to pray for you.  Please remember, our relationship and faith with God, should be just as strong as all those you call on for prayer.  Sometimes you have to be strong and realize that.  If not, then maybe like me, you should check yourself.  I realized that my prayer closest has been closed for a while.  I was relying on another person's Faith to help me out.

Thank You Jesus for the healing you did on friday, and that you continue to do everyday for all of us.
